Overview:
Pearse Professionals are excited to be working with a global technology organisation, currently seeking a Financial Controller to take ownership of a highly successful subsidiary of the wider group structure, based just outside of central London.
The Financial Controller will lead the financial management and reporting functions of the two business units. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to Group policies, and supporting the business in making strategic decisions to drive growth, efficiency, and profitability.
Role & Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Reporting:
Oversee day to day financial operations for both business units
Ensure timely and accurate Group reporting in accordance with Group accounting policies and timetables
Produce and analyse local financial reports, including revenue recognition, accruals, reserves, and KPIs
Maintain complete alignment between local accounting systems (SAP) and Group reporting tools (HFM).
Controls, Compliance & Audit:
Ensure strict monthly balance sheet reconciliations with zero tolerance for unreconciled accounts
Maintain robust internal control frameworks and proactively address compliance risks
Manage statutory and audit requirements, liaising with internal and external auditors and advisors.
Cash & Working Capital Management:
Review and optimise working capital to enhance cashflow
Plan and report on cash flow to the parent company
Oversee credit collections, credit limit determinations, and overdue account tracking.
Business Support & Analysis
Partner with the Managing Director to support decision making through financial analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost/profitability reviews.
Lead the preparation and consolidation of Annual Operating Plans and Forecasts.
Track project profitability in collaboration with Sales and Project Management teams.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification (required)
Minimum five years’ experience in a controlling role within a multinational environment
At least two years’ management experience in accounting and financial controlling
Experience with SAP is mandatory
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint
Familiarity with UK GAAP
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
under tight deadlines.
