Ottoway REIT is a UK student accommodation platform sponsored by CVC DIF, a leading European infrastructure private equity investor. The business represents a scaled, institutional platform in a structurally supported living sector underpinned by resilient demand drivers, defensive income characteristics, and favourable supply-demand dynamics.

The platform is entering an accelerated value-creation phase, with a clear mandate focused on capital deployment, strategic operational management, and platform institutionalisation. Growth will be driven through disciplined acquisitions, asset-level performance enhancement, and continued development of a scalable operating infrastructure designed to support long-term portfolio performance.

To support this next stage, they are appointing a high calibre Analyst to work closely with senior leadership and shareholders in a broad, commercially focused role. The position sits at the intersection of investment, asset management, and corporate strategy, with exposure to:

  • Investment underwriting and transaction execution

  • Financial modelling, performance analysis, and return optimisation

  • Business planning, budgeting, and capital allocation

  • Lender and investor reporting

  • Strategic initiatives to enhance platform scalability and operating leverage

About the Role

The Analyst will work closely with the Managing Director, Finance Director, Development Director and Operating Partners supporting key strategic initiatives and operational decision making. This role offers direct visibility with an institutional sponsor and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to value creation within a private equity backed platform environment. It is well suited to candidates seeking a principal-side trajectory combining transactional exposure with hands on platform growth experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite investment, development, and value-add opportunities

  • Build and maintain asset and portfolio-level financial models, valuations, and returns analysis

  • Support acquisitions, disposals, refinancings, and capital structuring initiatives

  • Assist with development feasibility analysis, appraisals, and project monitoring

  • Track performance against budgets and business plans

  • Own maintenance and improvement of financial models for the portfolio model and investment cases

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

  • Prepare materials for senior management, investors, and board discussions

  • Engage with the operating business to understand performance drivers and support commercial decisions

  • Coordinate with external advisors including valuers, lenders, legal advisors, and consultants

  • Provide support on compliance and lender reporting

Skills & Experience

  • Strong academic background in finance, economics, real estate, or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in real estate investment, private equity, asset management, or related fields

  • Strong financial modelling, underwriting skills, and understanding of real estate investments

  • CFA, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification, is advantageous

  • Commercially minded, proactive, and interested in the operational side of the business

  • Clear communicator, confident working with senior stakeholders and external partners
