Overview

Pearse Professionals are supporting a high growth financial services business with specialism across digital asset trading. As the business scales its institutional platform and broadens its product suite across crypto, fiat, and stablecoin settlement, they’re seeking an interim Product Controller to provide hands-on oversight across trading P&L, balance sheet control, and financial reporting.


Role & Responsibilities

Working closely with Finance, Risk, and Operations, you’ll take ownership of the product-level financials ensuring accuracy of daily P&L, reconciliations, and valuation controls across multiple trading venues and counterparties. You’ll also help develop control frameworks suitable for a regulated, fast-evolving digital asset environment.

  • Produce and review daily P&L and balance sheet reconciliations across digital asset and fiat products

  • Partner with trading, treasury, and operations to resolve breaks and ensure accurate valuation and funding

  • Develop and enhance control frameworks for new digital asset products (spot, stablecoins, OTC trades)

  • Support month-end and management reporting, working with group finance on ledger integrity

  • Contribute to process improvements across data flow, reconciliation, and reporting automation

  • Liaise with auditors, risk, and compliance on valuation methodology and control documentation


The Profile:

We’re seeking a technically strong, product-aware finance professional with experience in trading or financial-market environments, ideally including exposure to crypto, FX, or derivatives.

You’ll bring:

  • Prior experience in a Product Control, Financial Control, or Trading Finance role within a bank, broker, prop-trading firm, or digital asset business

  • Understanding of P&L attribution, valuation control, and balance sheet substantiation

  • Familiarity with digital assets, stablecoins, or blockchain-based settlement (advantageous but not essential)

  • Strong analytical and Excel/SQL skills, and comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth settings

  • Hands-on approach, able to implement process and control improvements in an evolving environment
